WIAB Org. - Sweet 16

 Welcome to this award winning

amateur baseball website.

www.hometalent.org/history/2004/awards.htm

Mission Statement:

This website is promote amateur mens adult baseball throughout the state of Wisconsin.  Most of these players have played Little League, Babe Ruth, High School, Legion, and in many case's College Baseball.  The problem was that most these leagues, teams and players were put on the back burner in many of their communities.  This website was founded five years ago (2003) to promote Wisconsin Amateur Baseball at it's highest level possible.

"The pro's play for the money, and player's in the minors play for possible fame, but Wisconsin Amateur Baseball player's play for the "love" of the game."

In these past five years a total of 12 new teams have formed around the state. This season (2008) we have at least 5 more new teams joining leagues.

Genoa City Red Dogs, St. Croix Falls River Bandits,

Rosholt Renegades, Hager City Skeeters, Germantown Giants,

Currently this website features 20 league's, with a total 38 division's. Many leagues will have 4 divisions.  In the 2007 season a total of 250 teams competed in these leagues.

These teams are all eligible to make the "Sweet Sixteen" a weekly rating of the best 16 best teams throughout the state.  It may not be the most accurate poll at this time, but with seeing 303 games in the last 5 years I've got a little idea of the quality of the teams and leagues.

Any coments can be emailed to:  blackwhiteblues@charter.net

"Take Me Out To The Ball Game"

"100 Years, 1908 Version"

Author: Jack Norworth ~ Composer: Albert VonTilzer

Katie Casey was base ball mad.

Had the fever and had it bad;

Just to root for the home town crew,

Ev'ry sou Katie blew.

On a Saturday, he young beau

Called to see if she'd like to go,

To see a show but Miss Kate said,

"No, i'll tell you what you can do."

"Take me out to the ball game,

Take me out with the crowd.

Bye me some peanuts and cracker jack,

I don't care if I never get back,

Let me root, root, root for the home team,

If they don't win it's a shame.

For it's one, two, three strikes, you're out,

At the old ball game."

Katie Casey saw all the games,

Knew the players by their first names;

Told the umpire he was wrong,

All along good and strong.

When the score was just two to two,

Katie Casey knew what to do,

Just to cheer up the boys she knew,

She made the gang sing this song:

"Take me out to the ball game,

Take me out with the crowd.

Buy me some peanuts and cracker jack.

I don't care if I never get back,

Let me root, root, root for the home team,

If they don't win it's a shame.

For it's one, two, three strikes, your out,

At the old ball game."
